Hiring Process Questions

Below is a list of frequently asked questions about Progressive’s hiring process.

FAQs about Progressive’s hiring process

How long does it take for Progressive to review my application?

It depends on the role and number of candidates who applied, but you can generally expect to hear from us via email or a call within one to four weeks. Learn more about Progressive’s application process.

How do I find the status of my application?

You can check your application status by logging into your candidate profile and navigating to the Careers Login page.

Can you tell me why I didn’t pass the pre-employment assessment?

Unfortunately, no. Our team only knows whether you’ve passed Progressive’s employee assessment or not, not details about how you performed.

How does a self-recorded interview work?

We use self-recorded video interviews—where you record yourself answering interview questions—for a lot of reasons, including that they make our hiring process steps more efficient and convenient for candidates. You don’t have lag time while trying to sync up schedules to interview with a recruiter, and you can complete your interview when it’s best for you using a computer, tablet, or personal cellular device. A Progressive recruiter reviews every completed video interview, so there are still people behind-the-scenes assessing candidates’ responses.

I forgot my candidate login information. Where can I find it?

Go to the Careers Login page and use the “forgot username” and/or “forgot password” link.

Where can I find information about a job I recently applied for?

If you can’t find it in your email inbox, you can log into your candidate profile on the Careers Login page.

Does Progressive do background checks?

After we’ve decided that we’d like to extend a job offer to a candidate, we ask them to agree to a background check covering their education, work, and criminal history before making the offer official. We do this hiring process step for a number of reasons, including to make sure the candidate has the experience they say they have, so we’ll be aware of potential physical or data security risks the candidate might pose, and because, as an insurer, we’re subject to some restrictions about the criminal history of the people we employ.

How do I know a Progressive job posting is not a scam?

We’re aware of job scams and have information here to help you identify and report them if you encounter them. Learn more about how to avoid job scams.
