As the senior manager risk within the Commercial Lines Control organization, you’ll lead a newly formed team tasked with advising Business Unit (BU) leadership on broad financial risks associated with its established businesses and growth in emerging segments (to include Transportation or Delivery Network Companies). You’ll work closely with the Commercial Lines general manager for Strategy, Control, and Analysis to expand and refine the business unit's risk appetite, while considering changes to existing operations and potential expansion to new product lines.  You’ll advise on ceded reinsurance projects for catastrophe-exposed (CAT) businessowners policies (BOP) segment and potentially other segments, collaborating with Corporate Risk and Reinsurance teams and external brokers to optimize reinsurance strategies. As the subject matter expert, you’ll provide tangible support during ideation, solution design and detailed analytic and technical steps of team projects.
 
This is a remote role with frequent travel to Progressive Headquarters (Cleveland, OH) based on business needs.
 
Must-have qualifications
  • A minimum of 11 years related professional experience, with at least 3 years of leadership experience (e.g., management).
  • OR Bachelor's degree or higher in Business or a related field of study (e.g., Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Finance or Quantitative Research) and a minimum of eight years related professional experience, with at least 3 years of leadership experience (e.g., management).
Preferred skills
  • Eight or more years of experience in the Property and Casualty industry.
  • Outstanding analytical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Compensation 
  • $112,300 - $180,000/year
  • Gainshare bonus up to 40% of your eligible earnings based on company performance
  • Participation in our restricted stock units plan
